You probably read the excerpt and might wonder how on earth a latte made with coffee could do all of those things, especially since coffee is very acidic for the body, taking 17 cups of water to neutralize the acid of one coffee. The key nutrient that makes this latte so powerful— Ganoderma.

Ganoderma is an adaptogen, meaning that it gives YOUR body what it needs. It brings your body back to balance the way God intended it to function. If you need more energy, it can boost your energy. If you need to be calmed down, it can have a calming effect. It can do something different for everyone, ranging from better and more restful sleep to fighting and preventing cancer.

    Source, Source, Source & Source

There are a number of ways to get Ganoderma into the diet including: coffee, tea, soap, energy drinks, protein, toothpaste and spore capsules. Personally, I choose to use only 100% organic Ganoderma, since most Reishi mushrooms are artificially grown from plastic bags and do not contain enough of a therapeutic dose to notice benefits.

How to Get The Best Ganoderma Into Your Diet

With millions of Ganoderma products out there (often called Reishi in the states) its hard to know what is the best or actually worth using. I used to buy Reishi from an online herb company but never found myself using it. I had to add it to smoothies or hot water and was never a fan of the taste really. Not to mention, most ganoderma is grown artificially in plastic bags, lending possibility for heavy metals and toxicities.

Ganoderma can be consumed as a dried root or leaf as tea or tincture, powdered dried root encapsulated, or powdered and added to a coffee beverage.

A ganoderma lucidum takes about 5-7 months to mature. When it does, it will release spores in a most amazing array of nature. The spores are released from the underside of the mushroom and cover the entire mushroom within a few minutes and after a few hours the entire micro-environment is covered by spores. It takes almost 2000 pounds of spores to make 2 pounds of spore powder.

The prized spores are impossible for humans to digest due to their hard shell that protects and nourishes spore potency. In order to open, they must be carefully ”cracked” and not spill out any of their precious and microscopic contents so that our bodies can digest them.

Ganoderma organic spores are expensive not just because of their nutrients, but also because harvesting them has to be timed just right and how the spores are ‘opened’ directly impacts the quality.

Other companies crush the shells, also crushing the spore itself, but I’ve chosen to only use Ganoderma from a company that uses a patented process to gently crack the shell, releasing the power of the spores to help protect and defend your health. I’ve linked the products I choose to use in the recipe and at the bottom of this post.

Ganoderma Latte— created by Emily

My favorite way to get Ganoderma is with my Ganoderma Latte, using a KING coffee sachet. Each cup is packed with flavor and antioxidants and it’s made such a difference in my day. I’ve been sharing my frothy coffee pour on my instagram stories for a few months now, so after enough enough message of people inquiring about the recipe, I figured I’d share the recipe on my blog for you all. Print it out, make it, tag me on instagram; I’d love to see your creations!

I choose to use the KING sachet due to the fact it contains the Spores (most beneficial part of Ganoderma mushroom), but the BLACK sachet would work as well! The difference between the KING and the BLACK is that the KING uses the Spores, as mentioned above and organic coffee beans, making it slightly more expensive. I’ve listed the differences in the ingredients below for convenience.

KING

  •  Organic medium dark roasted arabica coffee beans – one of the most popular coffee beans in the world made in Brazil

  • Organic Ganoderma Spores – The Ganoderma mushroom is one of the oldest mushrooms to be used in Chinese herbalism, ranking close to ginseng for years of usage. It is one of the most researched mushrooms, partly because in Ganoderma there are substances called triterpenes. These are found in many foods and plants like honey, apples, and cranberries. There are 50 of these substances that are exclusively found in ganoderma mushrooms. When the Ganoderma lucidum mature, they release spores which are used in the KING

BLACK

  • Medium dark roasted arabica and robusta beans, a black coffee that is bold and flavorful

  • Ganoderma lucidum – also known as the red Reishi mushroom. The powerhouse of mushrooms, has been used for over 2,000 years for its ability to support a healthy immune system because it can help support the growth of your body’s own active immune system cell

Life Changing Ganoderma Latte

A delicious and creamy gut-healing latte with a superfood ingredient scientifically studied and used to fight and prevent cancer, slow the aging process, protect the liver, boost immunity, nourish stressed and overworked adrenals, improve thyroid function, promote better sleep, decrease inflammation and pain, enhance workout recovery and reduce symptoms and side effects from a number of diseases including but not limited to diabetes type 1 & 2, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Hashimotos, PCOS, IBS and more.

Makes: 2 cups or 1 large mug
Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz almost boiling, filtered water (I use this filter)

  • 1 Sachet KING or BLACK Coffee (see note below)

  • 1 tablespoons cacao butter (this is key for creaminess, but feel free to sub coconut oil here if necessary)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (to balance blood sugar)

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional) or stevia, to taste, for sugar free option

  • 0.5 mL organic peppermint CBD oil (optional; more info here)

  • 1 scoop Grass-Fed Gelatin

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients (minus the gelatin) to a vitamix or high-speed blender (make sure the blender has a place for air to escape) and blend until frothy, about 30 seconds.

  2. While blender is running on low, add scoop of gelatin, then slowly increase speed and blitz for 2-3 seconds. Do not overblend!

  3. Pour into your favorite mug, sip and enjoy immediately!

  4. Garnish with additional cinnamon on top if desired!

Note: Do NOT, I repeat do NOT get the KING or BLACK sachets from amazon; the products are expired and counterfeit, as they are not allowed to be sold on amazon. You have the option of getting the coffee at a discounted price through their member program or wholesale program. Or, you can simply order it retail from the links in the recipe above.
